so I have been using zed for about a year now, since the release of zed 1.0 i have been thinking why i use zed over vs code and i came up with a few reasons
- the speed like it’s so fast, and it doesnt take up like 1 gb of ram just for idling
- the ram usage is actually pretty small like it uses around 50 mb of ram on idle
- it has good ai features build into it, and its not all messy like vs code handles the ai
- it looks better and just does things that i have been like why doesnt vs code do this, it would make so much more sense if they did it this way
- it’s not owned by microsoft, i hate microsoft, hate hate hate them. mostly because they are greedy for info and barely open source any of there stuff
- zed is really good and downloading and managing extensions
